I’ve been stuck in the paranormal/young adult genre for a while now, but my good friend told me this was a must read. She was so excited about it so I bought it instantly. I was not disappointed! I loved the story and the writing was fantastic! I spent the better part of my day today, at work, reading. I didn’t get anything done except for the occasional phone call. I went through the range of emotions with Ellie and for her. One minute I was happy, then I was crying, and then I was angry. I was totally invested and can understand portions of Ellie’s grief and insecurities. In fact, I said out loud at one point, “Ellie, you need therapy. And take Michael with you.” She ended up doing it. Ooooh but let me tell you what, the Carrie is a skank to the nth degree. Ellie is a better woman than I because I wouldn’t be able to forgive her much less allow her to hold my baby! But in the end, I guess one of the points to the story is the power of forgiveness and love; forgiveness and love between spouses and forgiveness and love between best friends. It was such a great read! There is a new author on my radar now! Well done!
